Facilities Maintenance - Corporate - Intern

General Purpose of Position:
The Facilities Maintenance, Corporate Intern will act in a support role within corporate facilities by assisting with painting, replacing light bulbs, plumbing or electrical repairs, grounds maintenance and special projects.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
1 General maintenance including patching, painting and repair walls and offices, replacing light bulbs and light fixtures.
2 Assist with plumbing repairs, minor electrical repairs, ceiling tile replacement, shelving, and running errands for projects.
3 Assist with grounds maintenance including picking up debris, trash, and snow removal/salting.
4 Assist housekeeping trash disposal when needed. 
5 Assist facilities maintenance with large projects and other duties as needed.
7 Ensure safe working conditions are being maintained in corporate areas and respond to emergency situations and safety concerns.

Reporting to this Position:
No direct reports

No travel

Work Shift:
This position works days, but responsibilities may be covered across multiple shifts when required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Has basic maintenance skills.  Understands safe use of tools, equipment, and chemicals necessary to maintain buildings, grounds, and fixtures.
  • Skilled at or ability to be trained on operating gator-type vehicles, fork and man lifts.
  • Good communication and analytical skills.
  • Able to take task from beginning to completion.
  • Able to work through and solve problems.
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment, as well as independently.

Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or technical school degree or equivalent military experience preferred.
  • 1+ years of direct experience in facilities maintenance.
  • Must have valid drivers’ license and reliable transportation
  • Working computer knowledge and skills (Microsoft Outlook).
